Tonight the American justice system has failed us. Troy Davis, a potentially innocent man, was executed tonight in Georgia. Even though he was convicted of a murder in 1989, there is reasonable doubt as to his guilt. I’m not saying that he was innocent, but they should have proven it beyond reasonable doubt. The legal system has failed us. This is a sad day in American history.

I was just thinking about why people turn to drugs, drinking, cutting, and other self destructive actions. I came to the conclusion that many people use these as an escape from everyday life’s pressures. For this reason it’s not always easy to stop without confronting the underlying triggers. Just a thought.
